Grant Monaghan & Associates was the first practice in Africa to offer the STARband® cranial remoulding treatment program and has successfully treated hundreds of patients with remoulding helmets. Grant Monaghan and Terence Garnett-Bennett are both senior practitioners with over 40 years of experience collectively.
Grant Monaghan
Grant is a dual-qualified practitioner in Podiatric Medicine and Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics. This dual qualification gives Grant the advantage of critical specialised Gait Analysis, a unique insight into biomechanical pathophysiology and the functioning of the human body, as well as well-honed orthotic and prosthetic manufacturing skills. He has a special interest in paediatrics as is borne out by the practice pioneering the STARband® cranial remoulding treatment program. He has served his special interest in paediatric care for over 22 years, providing contemporary Lower limb treatment, spinal and more recently cranial treatment.
He has developed extensive working networks with many practices in order to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Grant has trained in Europe and the USA to improve his knowledge and skills in his field and has also attended numerous special courses on South African soil to advance his knowledge and share his skills.
Grant is an executive member of the South African Orthotics and Prosthetics Association.
Terence Garnett-Bennett
Terence Garnett-Bennett is a senior Orthotist / Prosthetist with Grant Monaghan & Associates. He has a background in biokinetics and a keen interest in prosthetic technology and advancements, contemporary techniques in corrective scoliosis bracing and orthotic management of difficult neurological presentations of adults and children alike.
Terence is known for his excellence and precision in manufacture of orthopaedic devices, gait kinematics in prosthetics and passionate approach to patient care in the field of orthotics and prosthetics.
