Kirsten Gibson, CPO is a pediatric-focused Orthotist Prosthetist based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Her formal studies are Ndip in medical orthotics and prosthetics, BTech – Medical Orthotics Prosthetics, a certificate in two-dimensional gait analysis, as well as Elaine Owen pediatric gait analysis and orthotic management. She has gained much experience working at some of the busiest hospitals in Johannesburg with 12 years of experience as an orthotist prosthetist and 2 years of experience as an orthotic consultant.
Her passion is optimizing pediatric orthotic management through a combination of multi-disciplinary care, objective solution sculpting and the adoption of the newest technologies. She works in a pediatric multidisciplinary therapy setting, allowing her to work in conjunction with fellow advanced allied therapists with a special interest in complex neurological presentations and orthotic management of cranial asymmetries and flattening.
Kirsten is currently an executive committee member of both the South African Association of Orthotists Prosthetists and the South African arm of the International Society of Orthotists Prosthetists. She presents annually at various universities & post-graduate level training seminars.
